RIFLE. Cal. 42. S# 1067. Operated 1850-1880 (death) along with John H. Rector as Rector & Robson, 1850-1853 (American Gunsmiths by Sellers). Rnd. 29" bbls. Blade front sight & elevator rear sight. Side ribs have 2 pipes & bases for hardwood ramrods. Back action locks with dbl. triggers. Walnut buttstock w/ German silver finger curl triggerguard, toeplate & crescent buttplate. CONDITION: metal has brown patina appearance with corrosion & cleaned pitting; base plates are separating from rib. Sanded & refinished wood shows marks & gaps around action. Bores show strong rifling with oxidation. (01-28294/MD). ANTIQUE. $600-1,000.
