SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. S# 26865. Bbls. 26" chopper lump. Sidelock action features selective ejectors, bushed firing pins, cocking indicators & single non-selective trigger. Exquisite full coverage engraving is the work of K. C. Hunt. Lockplates have game scenes w/ pheasants. Floorplate features a hunting dog portrait. Scenes are surrounded by vine type foliate scroll. Bolsters have relief oak leaf engraving w/ squirrels. Long tang trigger guard has gold inlaid crest. Beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock of exhibition grade walnut having vivid burl figure. Features include point pattern wraparound hand checkering, teardrop points & hard rubber grip cap. Toeline of stock has oval nameplate w/ initials "JAM". LOP: 14" over a leather covered pad. DAC: 1 9/16". DAH: 2 1/8". Stock has a neutral cast. Bore diameter: R .616 L .616. Choke constriction: R cyl. bore L .012. Minimum wall thickness: R .031 L .030. WEIGHT: 6 lbs, 0.6 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: leather covered case w/ burgundy fitted interior. Inside lid has James Purdey & Sons label & specifications label. Case contains instruction booklet, game register booklet & factory letter. Letter shows completion date of March 1964 for A.H. Lamborn & details original specifications. Accessories consist of oil bottle, snap caps, turn screw, firing pin wrench, 2 piece ebony cleaning rod & cleaning accessories. Also included is a Purdey & Sons Syvelt Cloth. Case has a canvas cover w/ initials "J.A.M.". CONDITION: bbls. retain 97% blacked finish. Action has a pleasing gray appearance. Wood finish shows light wear w/ scattered marks.
