1) A good exampleof a Japanese type 32 cavalry trooper's saber that was introduced in 1899 for mounted troops. The saber measures 37" overall with a 30 1/2" single fullered blade stamped "64762". Steel hilt with crosshatched back strap and wooden grip. Steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows light use but appears to have been sharpened. Hilt and scabbard show light wear. 2) A Japanese katana of post WWII production apparently as a reproduction of an old style. Katana measures 44 1/2" overall with a 29" blade that seems to be of low quality with no discernable hamon. Brass habaki and cheaply gold plated whit metal tsuba. Fuchi and kashira match but are again, cheap white metal. Gray same with white metal menuki and poor quality green tsuka-ito. Brown enameled wooded saya with white metal mounts. CONDITION: white metal parts and the saya show moderate wear and the rest of the katana shows light wear. (02-27032/BF). NON-GUN. $400-600.
