1) Japanese katana measuring 41 3/4" overall with a 31" blade that shows a light straight hamon, and a brass habaki. There are no seppa with the copper dragon and cloud engraved tsuba. The nakago is unsigned and has a single mekugi-ana. The tsuka and saya are raw wood in the manner of a shirasaya. CONDITION: the blade has no major faults but does have oxidation spots and could use a cleaning. Tsuba has small dents and dings. Saya shows wear and is split in half lengthwise. 2) Japanese wakizashi measuring 29" overall with a 21" blade featuring a straight hamon, full length hi, and a stepped gilded brass habaki. There is one gilded seppa above and below the ornate gold inlaid iron tsuba that depicts a man in a forest scene with a monkey on the opposite side. The tsuba is also signed on both side under the seppa. The nakago has a 3 character signature and has a two mekugi-ana. The tsuka is in poor condition but has a beautiful signed gold inlaid fuchi and full same only. The saya has a black enameled finish and is missing the kogatana. CONDITION: blade has a very nice polish with no flaws. Tsuka is missing the kashira, menuki, and the tsuka-ito. Saya shows wear. (02-25786/BF). NON-GUN. $700-1,200.
