Overall length: 39". Blade length: 27 5/8". A shin-gunto katana with a fine, wavy, irregular hamon and gilded copper embellished habaki. Nakago has a single mekugi-ana and features a 7-character signature on one side that appears to read “Noshu Seki ju Kanenobu saku”. The signature indicates the blade was made in Mino Province, in the city of Seki, by Kanenobu. There are two seppa on either side of the classic gilded brass tsuba, featuring four cherry blossoms on each side. Matching fuchi and kabuto-gane with the original sarute. White same with tan colored tsuka-ito. Finely done, gilded 3-cherry blossom menuki on each side. Standard military saya with matching koiguchi, semegane, and ishizuke. Saya body has a dark olive-painted finish. CONDITION: blade has a superb polish and vivid hamon. Tsuka shows light wear overall, with heavier wear on the tsuka-ito, which shows significant fraying.
