MUSKET. Cal. 58. S# 0861. Bbl. 40". Blade front sight. Flip up rear sight. Japanese-made 1861 Springfield musket likely made by Miroku. Lock has "1861" date, US Eagle, and "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" markings. Bbl. flat is marked "1861". Rear left of bbl. has "MADE IN JAPAN" and serial number. Brightly finished metal. Walnut stock with bottom-mounted sling swivels and leather repro sling. Ramrod present. CONDITION: stock shows some scattered handling marks. Metal remains mostly bright with some scattered oxidation, most notable ahead of the middle band. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Very good bore. (01-25717/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
