Overall length: 39”. Blade length: 26 3/4". Blade has a straight hamon with a silvered copper habaki. There is one gilded seppa above & below the plain iron tsuba. The nakago is unsigned but does have 2 Japanese characters in black ink. There are 2 mekugi-ana with one being near the tip. The tsuka has a dark coated burlap same with a rich gold-colored tsuka-ito. There is a pair of gilded 10-petal cherry blossom menuki. The gilded brass kabuto-gane matches the fuchi. The saya is a black enameled wood with gilded brass mounts. CONDITION: blade has a very fine polish with no fault or stains. Tsuka & saya show very light overall wear. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18426/BF). $400-600.
