Cal. 7.7 Jap. Bbl. 22" finned. Designed by General Kijiro Nambu, introduced in 1939 the Japanese Type 99 machine gun is considered to be one of the best light machine guns of WW2. This Type 99 machine gun kit that to be complete less receiver & monopod. Kit appears to be of Hitachi mfg. Bbl. is numbered "18133" & dated "19.10" for October 1944. 30 rd. magazine & flash hider appear unnumbered but all numbered other parts are matching to bbl. Asian hardwood stock set with butt stock installed upside down. The kit is housed in a modern hardcase. CONDITION: wooden parts show a few abrasions, some chipping, scattered dings & handling wear. Metal retains strong amounts of original blue with overall fading to gray, scattered oxidation & some pitting most notably on bipod legs. Bore is mostly bright with some scattered pitting & oxidation but strong rifling. (02-22873/MJC). $2000-3000.
