Overall length: 19”. Blade length: 13 1/2". Blade has a vivid, irregular hamon and appears to be 16th century, signed by Nobuyoshi, with a silvered copper habaki. There is one seppa above and below the gold and silver inlaid iron tsuba. The tsuba decorations feature dragons, military standards, and organic natural motifs. The tsuba has an added alteration to decrease the width of the nakago needed to utilize this tsuba. The nakago has a single mekugi-ana with a 3-character signature on one side. The tsuka has matching gold-inlaid fuchi, kashira, and menuki. The primary form of decoration is floral and foliate motifs. Brown tsuka-ito with white same. The saya has a brown enamel finish with a kogatana featuring a stunning inlaid gold dragon. CONDITION: blade has a good polish but could stand a cleaning. Tsuba has some oxidation but remains artistically attractive. The tsuka is equally visually appealing. The saya has enamel loss at the base and is missing its suspension loop.
