RIFLE. WITH INTACT "Mum". Cal. S# 27727. S#s match on receiver and bayonet lug. Bbl 25 1/2". Receiver has "Mum" and Type 99 characters. Nagoya Arsenal interlocking circles on left side. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1500 meters. AA wings are present. Inverted V front sight with protective ears. 24" cleaning rod. Three screw upper band. Open top lower band with provision for monopod. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock has 2 piece construction. Full length hand guard. Two screw butt swivel. Cup type buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: consignor tag states rifle belonged to Clayton Decker from Submarine U.S.S. Tang. 5 empty Norma 7.7 cartridge cases. Late production bayonet with 15 5/8" non fullered blade. Blade is marked on right ricasso with "Toyada Jidoshoki Seisakusho" characters. Blade has unknown characters in white on top between grip panels. Straight cross guard. Riveted hard wood grips. Straight pommel. Bayonet with traces of blue turning overall patina with light wear. CONDITION: stock set has light wear an scattered handling marks with a professional restorative finish. Metal has moderate wear and handling marks throughout retaining little original finish. Bore has conventional style rifling and is shiny. PROVANANCE: the Collection of Curtis H. Halvorson.
