MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 11301. S#s match on receiver, bolt, and extractor. Bbl. 25 1/2". Receiver marked on top only with "mum", which has been partly removed. Left side of the receiver has the "TOKYO JUKI KOGYO" arsenal marking. Fixed aperture rear sight. Inverted V front sight. Bolt has an oval knob and a smooth, notched safety knob. Hardwood stock set with a two-piece buttstock and forend construction. Welded upper band with bayonet lug. Solid lower band without provision for a monopod. Small recoil bolt. Single-screw butt swivel. Flat wood buttplate. CONDITION: stock set has extensive wear, staining, and handling marks. Notable repaired large cracks on the right side of the grip and several fine extended cracks on the left side. Stock has notable machining marks around the grip and comb area. Metal has turned overall patina with light oxidation and wear but retains traces of blue. A screw is missing from the middle of the one-piece trigger guard, leaving the action loose in the stock. Good, shiny bore, with lightly worn lands. (24-2127/RW). CURIO. $200-300.
