Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 77707. Bbl. 19". Receiver has "mum", which has been partially lined out and has intact Type 38 characters. Left side of the receiver is marked with Kokura Arsenal interlocking circles. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. Inverted V front sight with protective ears. Bolt handle with oval knob. Checkered small tang safety knob. Cleaning rod is present. Upper band with bayonet lug. Side swivels. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock with a 2-piece construction. Stock has two inletted silver-colored coins. One on the right side of the buttstock is marked "50 SEN". The second is on the right side of the stock above the trigger and has a man's silhouette plus oriental characters. CONDITION: stock set has an arsenal rework-type finish with added finish over wear, staining, and handling marks. There is a notable loss of wood around the upper and lower tangs. Metal retains 80% of its original blue finish with light wear and scattered areas of light oxidation. Very good, shiny bore. (24-1379 /RW). CURIO. $300-450.
