Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# K5013. Bbl. 30 3/4". These interesting rifles were mfg. in Italy by various arsenals for Japan in the years 1938-1939. Most if not all of the rifles were used by the Imperial Navy as rifle production in Japan was largely taken up by the army. The rifles use the basic Carcano action but have certain Japanese features including the rear sight and 2 piece buttstock construction. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400 meters. Sight ladder is marked "PB". Inverted V front sight. Straight bolt handle. Bolt is marked with "PB" underneath bolt handle root. Arisaka style magazine and floorplate assembly. Cleaning rod is not present. Hardwood stock set is unmarked. Two piece buttstock construction. CONDITION: rifle appears in very good condition with original finish having only light wear and scattered handling marks. Buttstock joint is notably open. 1 Butt swivel screw is modern replacement.
