19th century. This large figural bronze depicts a woman in flowing robe draped over her right shoulder seated on a pedestal to which is a semi-circular base section beneath an anthemion leaf frieze on which she rests her right leg. Her left leg extended beyond the statues base. Her arms are each extended, her right hand holding a paint brush as she gazes at her palette held in her left hand. The bronze has a variegated brown and golden patina. The sculpture is signed on the proper left base of the pedestal "P. Aube", additionally the base has a plaque mounted to the front "Peintur Par P. .Aube Hors Concours". SIZE: 32 1/2" h. CONDITION: very good with undisturbed patina. There are two small holes missing screws. (05-746/TG). $2,000-3,000.
