Cal. 4mm. S# 1455. Bbl. 26". Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 50m. 4mm Anschutz (JGA) German training rifle sold by the retailer Buscher. Matching numbers on receiver and bbl. Other visible parts appear unnumbered. Receiver top has "JGA" over a shield crest with hand holding a sword. Receiver markings also have added highlight paint. Blued finish. Walnut stock with left side sling swivels and period leather sling. Cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black muzzle cover with folding lid. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows scattered handling marks. Metal retains 85% original blue with scattered edge wear, fading, and some light oxidation. Action is stuff but functional when hand-cycled. Poor, worn, dark bore. PROVENANCE: the estate collection of Charles Wagner. (24-4595/MJC). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
