SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 14384. Bbls. 30", sleeved, w/ sunken concave rib. Rib marked "John Rigby & Co. Dublin & London". Thumb lever operated sidelock hammer action w/ high fences & double under lug locking. Case colored action has fine English style rose & scroll engraving w/ serpent head engraved hammers. Lever fastened splinter forearm & straight hand stock of fancy English walnut w/ hand checkering & tear drop points. LOP: 14 1/4" over steel shotgun butt. DAC: 1 3/8". DAH: 2 1/16". Stock has a slight cast off. Bore diameter: RT .727, LT .728. Choke constriction: RT .008, LT .014. Minimum wall thickness: RT .031, LT .032. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 11 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: oak & leather case w/ makers label for a 26" bbl. gun. Red cloth fitted interior shows considerable wear. Case exterior shows moderate wear & scuffs. Rigby Data Collection Sheet confirming configuration of serial # 14384. CONDITION: action finish has faded to a pleasing gray patina retaining traces of case colors in protected areas. Trigger guard, trigger plate & lever have good reblued finish. Sleeved bbls. retain over 98% blue & have very good bores. Refinished wood shows small marks & has freshened checkering. Right side of forearm has a small chip near tip. (01-23485/DS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
