CENTENNIAL RIFLE & MUSKET SET. Both: Cal. 30-30. Consecutive S# matched set. Left side of the stocks feature a 3" oval brass plaque engraved "PRESENTED/ TO/ John Wayne/ From His Many Friends/ AT/ Winchester/ AND THE/ National Rifle Association/ JUNE 19, 1971".Left side of actions are marked "1871 NRA 1971.". Both sides of actions have highlights of scroll engraving. Right sides of stocks have circular NRA pewter medallions. A combined total of 47,380 NRA Centennial rifles and muskets were mfg. by Winchester in 1971. 1) MODEL 94 NRA MUSKET. S#. NRA29. Bbl. 26" rnd. Blade front sight with folding leaf musket rear sight. Band fastened full length walnut forearm and straight grip stock with steel musket buttplate and sling swivels. CONDITION: bbl. and action retain over 98% original blue. Right side of buttplate shows a small spot of oxidation and light pitting. Very good original stock finish showing scattered small marks. Sound action. Very good bright bore. (25-4220/DS). 2) MODEL 94 NRA RIFLE. S# NRA28. Bbl. 24" tapered rnd. Hooded ramp bead front sight with elevator adj. sporting rear sight. 3/4 length tubular mag. Semi-beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock of fancy walnut with plastic buttplate and swivel bases. CONDITION: over 98% original blue.
