BLOCK SRC. Cal. 43 Spanish. NSN. Bbl. 20 1/2". No. 1 action Rolling Block in saddle ring carbine configuration. Blade front sight. Flip up rear sight. Bbl. marked "R" at top rear & two crosses at right rear. Walnut stock set w/ bottom mounted sling swivels. Replacement cleaning rod. Left side of butt marked "BATJAC" denoting that this Rolling Block was owned by John Wayne's movie production company. Modified Rolling Block rifles were used in the film "The Alamo" by the extras playing the Mexican army & modified to resemble period flintlock muskets. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: printed copies of two other Rolling Blocks marked to John Wayne's production company. CONDITION: walnut stock set has a loose fit w/ added finish, a few cracks, scattered dings & handling wear. Metal has a fading reblue finish w/ scattered pitting, light scratches & handling wear.
