Cal. 45 ACP. S# JPE10352. Bbl. 5"; unmarked with polished throating. JPE was an importer in Pomona, CA that supplied 1911 frames to Brolin Arms having JPE as serial number prefix. When Brolin went out of business, the remaining frames were sold by Sarco. JPE is Jay's (J's?) Pacific Enterprises and as they were primarily an importer, it is speculated that the frames may have been made by Armscor in the Phillipines or that JPE got them 80% done and did the final machining. Frame is actually 1911-A1 configured in stainless (unpolished feed ramp) with 2 notable features: high upper cut on front strap and beveled magazine well. Frame is fitted with stainless parts to include: extended magazine release, polished pivot pins, mainspring housing pin, flat checkered mainspring housing (lightly recessed at butt), polished grip screws plus polished serrated slide stop and thumb safety. Short length serrated faced aluminum trigger (no overtravel provision). Blued beavertail safety with upswept top and memory pad. Skeletonized blued hammer; narrowed with polished sides. Blued spring plug, barrel bushing and unmarked barrel (polished at port area). 1911-A1 style sights on plain blued slide having "MODEL OF 1911" on left side; no other markings plus 70 Series configured. Fully checkered walnut grips with noticeably arched tops. MAGS: 1 good, unmarked military style 7 rd. CONDITION: very good to excellent appearance with occasional faint marks plus hint of thinning at edges. Minimal barrel bushing finish. Especially light trigger pull yet hammer does not follow slide when briskly cycled by hand. Near excellent bore and grips. (23-6882/NW). MODERN. $450-600.
