BREECH LOADING REPEATING CARBINE. Cal. 50 RF. S# 4179. Bbl. 22" rnd. standard configuration bbl. w/ adj. rear sight stamped “KENTUCKY” on left side of breech. This gun was part of a contract of 5,000 guns for the state of Kentucky in Jan. 1865. CONDITION: very good to fine overall; metal retains about 20% original finish w/ balance silver/brown patina, hairline crack on left side of stock following mag. tube which is often seen, otherwise stocks are fine, well fit w/ scattered storage dings & dents, markings crisp w/ exception of lightly struck “TRIPLETT & SCOTT” & patent information on top tang, mechanically fine w/ well defined rifled bore.
