Cal. 7mm Nambu. S# 1815. Bbl. 3 1/4" w/ dovetailed inverted V sight. 7mm Nambu type pistols referred to as “Baby” by collectors. Approx. 6,500 mfg. 1903-1929. First grouping mfg. 1903-1923 by Tokyo's Koishikawa Arsenal w/in S# range 1-5899. Later production by Tokyo & Gas Electric 1923-1929 numbered 5900-6450. Matching numbered border checkered walnut grips (very clearly marked), barrel with extension, magazine release, bolt & cocking piece. Multi-circled Koishikawa symbol over chamber. Right rear of slide has 3 Japanese kanji characters reading “Nambu Type”plus 1815 properly centered below the characters. Extremely small marking below trigger guard slot appearing by loupe to contain "W" or "M". MAGS: very good matching numbered 7 rd. with light pitting on right side of body; better appearing left side. CONDITION: very good to excellent overall appearance as professionally restored with very nice straw colors; extractor partially in the white being match polished to bolt plus traces of straw colors on front portion. Areas of light pitting under grips plus very fine sections of pinprick oxidation mainly on lower portions of grip. Very good grips with light hand wear to diamonds. Very good to excellent bore. Breech face and chamber have appearance of possibly being unfired. (23-6988/NW). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
