CASE. Cal. 45 ACP. S#4. A phenomenal reproduction of DWM’s .45 ACP Luger as submitted to the 1906 U.S. Military trials. Reportedly, 2 pistols were assembled, only 1 remaining. Painstakingly dimensioned from the original and one of fewer than 30 that Krauswerk completed, this example was one of the first, w/ a full complement of accessories, including 2 additional mags beyond the cased spare. The pistol itself has a 4.75" bbl. w/ drift adjustable front sight & standard Luger “V” notch rear sight. Top of toggle is blank except for the intertwined "GL" (Georg Luger) behind rear sight, applied to the guns that were made under his direct supervision. S# "4" is on forward frame & on the bottom of the bbl. extension. There are no other markings on the gun; the number "4" repeated on the spine of the mag. Major components rust blued. Sm. parts strawed or fire blued. Walnut checkered grips. Spare mag. in case is unmarked. MAGS: 3 spare mags total. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Other accessories in the special ordered Huey-type hard carrying / presentation case include a pin punch, takedown tool marked w/ Mauser banner & an oiler / cleaning rod w/ brass shaft. Case covered w/ black pebbled leather, nickeled latched & corners, French fitted interior lined w/ green baize. Additionally included are 3 spare Krauswerk mags, 1 unmarked (in case), the other 2 marked "2" on spine. CONDITION: gun & accessories present as virtually new, unfired. Case is excellent w/ artificial aging having been applied to the leather wrapped handle. A fantastic ensemble, the next best thing to owning the only original .45 Luger extant, from an enterprise that is no longer operational! (22-3217/LMA). MODERN. $17,500-27,500.
