SALUTE CANNON. Cal. 1 7/8" w/ 10 Ga. insert. S# 10. Bbl. 26.5"; 1.52" diameter at muzzle. Mfg. by South Boston Ironworks of Boston, Mass; Patent date of June 8, 1881 above chamber. Clam shell two piece opening to breech with "S Boston Ironworks" marking. Breech has 10 gauge adapter with screw retention. Cannon is housed in hardwood carriage with brass fixtures & wooden wheels. Includes elevation adj. platform. CONDITION: brass has aged mustard brown patina with spots of verdigris & numerous handling marks. Case has heavy varnish with numerous dings & marks. Right wheel has large chip missing. Bore shows pitting throughout. (02-25048/MD). NON-GUN. $6,000-10,000.
