CANNON. Caliber: 3 gauge. Chamber diameter approximately 1.40". Muzzle measures approximately 1.30". NSN. Smoothbore brass tube is 26" overall. Gun & carriage measure 29" overall. 13 1/2" wide over axle. Height approximately 15" overall. These graceful guns with their disguised breech hinge were produced by the Strong Fire Arms Company which was founded in 1884. The cannon is mounted on a two wheeled mahogany carriage with brass fittings. Has a screw elevating wheel. CONDITION: brass barrel is turning patina. Balance of brass parts have a notably darker hue, giving a pleasing appearance. The gun has a well-cared for appearance with light overall wear & appears to be mechanically functional.
