LOCK & BLUNDERBUSS BARREL RETAILED BY BARNETT OF LONDON WITH STAND. Cal. .90 2" at muzzle. NSN. The 26" tapered round barrel with flared muzzle measures over 2" at breech end which is stamped with London black powder proofs. Large percussion bolster is on right side. Lock with chamfered plate is fitted with large percussion hammer. Lock plate is stamped with a royal crown over "VR" "TOWER 1851" and with British broad arrow. Walnut stock extends to muzzle, is pinned to barrel and is fitted with swivel yoke resembling an oarlock. Mounts are brass. An oval stamp on right side of butt is marked "BARNETT" "GUNMAKERS" "LONDON". Heavy steel ramrod is held by large brass beaded pipe and hole in stock without metal thimble. Gun is accompanied by cast bronze mount screwed to triangular wooden base. CONDITION: good. Metal parts contain nearly all smooth brown patina. Wood is good with old finish, markings clear.
