KNIVES AND BAYONETS. No.1: Model 1904 Hospital Corps Knife. 11 7/8" bright blade. 17 1/4" overall. The blade has a rounded point. Blade is marked on left ricasso "SA / flaming bomb / 1910". Marked on right ricasso "U.S. / 15211". S shaped brass guard. Walnut grips w/ deep finger grooves secured by brass rivets. Grips have lanyard hole & brass cap. Brown leather scabbard w/ its wire belt loop & silver colored brass throat. Marked on the back w/ partially obscured "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL / 1912 / H.E.K.". CONDITION: blade is turning gray w/ light oxidation & has been cleaned over light pitting. Edge has been lightly sharpened. Brass has turned a pleasing patina w/ numerous handling marks. Grips have wear & handling marks throughout retaining a good appearance. Scabbard has wear & flexing. Stitching remains tight. Metal has wear & light oxidation. / No.2: Model 1904 Hospital Corps Knife. 12" rounded bright blade. 17 3/8" overall. Left ricasso is marked "1904". Right ricasso is marked "U.S. / 933". S shaped brass crossguard. Walnut grips w/ deep finger grooves secured by brass rivets. Grips have lanyard hole & brass cap. Brown leather scabbard w/ silver colored metal throat & wire belt hook. Scabbard is marked on back "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL / 1910 / H.E.K.". CONDITION: blade turning gray over cleaned light pitting. Edge has been sharpened. Back of knife has numerous dents. Brass turning patina w/ wear & handling marks. Rivets appear to be replacements. Walnut grips have replaced wood repair on both grips. Brown leather scabbard has wear, scuffing & flexing. Stitching remains generally good. Throat has extensive wear & thinning. / No.3: Model 1904 Hospital Corps Knife. 12" bright blade w/ curved tip. 17 1/4" overall. Left ricasso marked "SA / flaming bomb / 1914". Right ricasso marked "U.S. / 40720". S shaped brass guard. Walnut grips w/ deep finger grooves secured by brass rivets. Grip has lanyard hole & brass cap. Scabbard is not present. CONDITION: blade has turned overall gray w/ extensive oxidation & shallow pitting. The edge has a notably nicked appearance. Brass parts have turned a dark patina w/ wear. Grips have moderate wear & handling marks throughout. / No.4: U.S. Model 1909 Bolo. 14" bright blade w/ pointed tip. 19 3/8" overall. Left ricasso marked "SA / flaming bomb / 1912". Right ricasso marked "U.S. / 16230". Straight steel crossguard drilled at bottom. Curved walnut grips secured by three brass rivets & brass cap at tip. Right grip has marking which appears to be "CCC" possibly for "Civilian Conservation Corp". No scabbard is present. CONDITION: blade has been sharpened & is returning to gray and patina. Balance of metal has turned patina. Grips are well worn w/ added finish. Left grip has a crack on the lower rear edge. / No.5: U.S. Marine Corps Medical Corpsman's Knife. 11 3/4" rounded tip blade. 17 1/4" overall. Left ricasso marked "ONTARIO KNIFE / U.S.". Blade has added shallow notches on back 4 1/2" ahead of grips. Walnut grips w/ shallow finger grooves & finger rest w/ lanyard hole at rear. Brown leather scabbard marked on back "USMC / BOYT / 44". CONDITION: blade retains a large percentage of its original blackened finish. Blade has been lightly sharpened w/ the sharpened edge turning patina. Grips have moderate wear w/ scattered small handling marks. Leather scabbard has notable staining issues w/ light wear & scuffing. Stitching & rivets remain tight.
