AMERICAN EAGLE. This carving which dates to the 19th century may have simply been a wall plaque. It depicts a wonderfully rendered spread winged eagle with turned head clutching some branches. It is carved of dark wood, likely walnut, and has a very old surface. Constructed of 3 pieces of wood. SIZE: Approx. 22 ¼" from wingtip to wingtip. CONDITION: Has wonderful old patina, retains its old finish. There appears to be no damages or restorations. PROVENANCE: Larry W. Williams Lifetime Collection. (02-23274/JDJ). $750-1,750.
