Cal. 45 ACP. S# 295255 (mfg. 1918, US Army S# 143655). Rough blued finished revolver with a 5 1/2" barrel marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the bottom. Six-shot fluted cyl. The left side of the frame has Eagle "S15" proof and rampant Colt. Matching-numbered smooth walnut grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Fink 1942 brown leather holster. Holster in good condition w/ marks, flexing, and verdigris. Two half-moon clips with spent cases. CONDITION: very good original blue finish showing scattered spots of peppery oxidation, light worn finish on edges of cylinder and around muzzle, along with cyl. turn line. Very good grip finish with several marks on the butt. Very good bore. PROVENANCE: the collection of Curtis H. Halvorson. (23-5863/MD). CURIO. $700-1,100.
