Cal. 8x57 (8mm Mauser). S# 86274. Bbl. 23 1/2". Blade front sight without hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Mismatched blued bolt parts & other parts appear unnumbered as-is typical for late war K98ks. Receiver top has German eagle "749" inspection stamp & "bcd 45" markings denoting mfr. by Gustloff Werke in 1945. Floorplate & trigger guard are both marked "qnw". Blued trigger guard. Other parts have phosphate finish. Replacement laminated stock set with left side sling provisions & eagle "H" (Heer) marking on right side of butt. Stock is cut for a takedown disc that is not present. CONDITION: stock set shows some dings & handling marks. Floorplate appears cleaned to bright. Metal shows scattered fading, dings & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with some scattered oxidation & light pitting but strong rifling. (25-480/MJC). CURIO. $500-800.
