Cal. 7.7mm. S# 11593. Bbl. 25 1/2". Blade front sight without ears. Fixed aperture rear sight. All parts are matching. Late war Type 99 made by Toyo Kogyo at Hiroshima. Receiver ring has added mum that appears to be done post-service & added Type 99 markings. As made these later rifles lacked the 99 markings. Left side of receiver has Toyo Kogyo & 35th series symbols. Blued finish. Asian hardwood stock set with separate forend, two piece butt & left side sling swivels. Underside of stock has two strong Kanji stamps. CONDITION: stock set retains strong original Urushi with a couple light chips, scattered dings & handling marks. Receiver ring shows notable discoloration likely from touch up blue. Balance of metal retains 90% original blue with scattered light oxidation, handling marks & fading. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bright bore. (26-38/MJC). CURIO. $600-900.
