Cal. 22 WRF. S# 836132. Bbl. 24". Late production Model 90 slide action rifle mfg. by Winchester, post-WWII. The left quarter flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by the model and cal. designations. Upper receiver tang is marked with the Winchester trademark logo. Receiver, action slide, lower assembly, and buttplate exhibit a polished blue finish, with the bbl. exhibiting a duller blue finish, both appearing to be original from the factory. Grooved wood pump and plain wood straight grip buttock with crescent steel buttplate. Dovetailed blade front sight with single screw fastened U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the upper and lower assemblies. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finishes, exhibiting some scattered spots of light wear and thinning (primarily on edges), scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Sides of bbl. exhibit what appears to be traces of previously applied lacquer. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of John "Jack" Dhooghe. (25-5557/MLW).
