MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3672663. Bbl. 24". Marked on right side "1 S-A-3-45" Throat gauges 1.0. Muzzle gauges less than 1.0. Locking bar aperture rear sight with battle range elevation knob. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA" except hammer which has drawing #" C 46008-8". Stamped triggerguard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked on left side with boxed "S.A. / GAW" and "crossed cannons". When examined closely some of the markings appear as slight double strikes. Encircled "P" proof under grip. Green web sling. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 6 3/8" blade bayonet marked on front of crossguard "US / M5 / IMPERIAL". Black checkered plastic grips. Green plastic scabbard with web frog marked " USM8A1". Bayonet in very good condition. Scabbard well worn but serviceable. CONDITION: stock set has light wear and scattered handling marks. Metal retains a large percentage of its arsenal rework Parkerization. Very good shiny bore. (24-5817/RW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
