GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 43408 (Circa 1955). This very nicely made gun has 27-5/8" demi-block barrels fitted with flat matted ventilated rib. Top barrel is engraved "Aug. Lebeau-Courally" "Armes de Grand Luxe-Liege". The number "1" is gold inlaid at rear of rib. Barrel flats are marked with maker's name and address along with Lebeau Courally logo. No proofs are present. Bottom of bottom barrel is marked with S#, provisional proofs, choke information and steel type "DE WAHLREYNE". Choke percentages "53%/68%" are stamped in front of loop. Coin finish low profile Boss type action with back spring sidelocks features non-automatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold), gold plated internals and single non-selective mechanical trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with full coverage very nicely cut shaded scroll which surrounds crown and acanthus devices which are found on bottom of action and lockplates. Engraver's signature "H. Wery" is on trigger plate. Maker's name is not on exterior of action but is stamped in barrel well. Belgian proofs are on watertable. S# is on trigger guard tang. Very nicely figured and marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/4" over checkered wood butt and features drop points, point pattern grip checkering and vacant silver oval. Matching three piece ejector forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .732. U .730. Restriction: O .025 (mod). U .005 (IC). Wall thickness: O .026. U .027. STOCK: DAH: 2-1/2". DAC: 1-1/2". CAST: about 5/8" off. LOP: 14-3/4". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 0 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a tan leather case with stitched leather corners; lined in burgundy velvet. A Lebeau-Courally Continental Firearms Limited label is in lid. Bottom compartment is semi-French fitted and contains a pair of snap caps, empty bone striker bottle and a key. CONDITION: fine as lightly refurbished. Barrels with nearly all good quality re-black. Action lightly cleaned to coin finish. Wood retaining nearly all oil re-finish. Checkering competently re-cut. Bores are bright and shiny without noted problems. Action is tight; barrels on face. Under ejector does not fire. Case is fine with some spots and marks on exterior. Straps and handle are good. Interior cloth is good with light soiling and compressions. Label is partially detached. (25-932/MGM). CURIO. $7,000-12,000.
