Cal. 15mm Pinfire. S# 2660. Bbl. 7 5/16" rnd. w/ Metford style rifling & beaded blade front sight. Top of bbl. is marked "Fini Par Le Page a Paris". Bbl. is threaded into the cyl. spindle & secured through the bbl. lug into the frame w/ out provisions for ejector. Right side of bbl. lug has a crown over "P" French proof. Six shot rnd. cyl. w/ raised exterior stops. Cyl. has an oval w/ "ELG", Belgium black powder proof. Right side of recoil shield has a swing out loading gate. DA that also functions in SA mode. Square butt grip frame w/ lanyard loop. Two piece walnut grips w/ hand checkering & floral carved ears. Mfg. in Belgium during the time of the American Civil War & bears many resemblance to the Belgium made Le Mat revolvers used by the Confederacy. CONDITION: gray colored metal shows evidence of light cleaning w/ scattered spots of light corrosion. Grips show light wear & handling marks. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling showing scattered spots of very light pitting. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Kenneth Horn (Grandson of JC Higgins). (01-20627/DS). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
