"2 SCREW SIDEPLATE" MEDIUM FRAME .38 THIRD MODEL POCKET DA REVOLVER. Cal. 38 M&H. S# 28514. Per July 10th, 2000 letter, mfg. about 1886. Letter details that this revolver model is scare due to a "2 screw" side plate & folding hammer assumed to be "one of only two known". This revolver was carrieed by a Deputy Sheriff in Los Angeles County, California in 1922. Matching numbered 3.5" barrel with pinned blade front sight, rib has Merwin & Hulbert address markings & trench rear sight. Five shot fluted cyl. numbered "22933". Nickel finished with 2 piece hard rubber grips. CONDITION: fair worn nickel with peeling & patina throughout. Good grips w/ light wear. Good rifling with pitting.
