FOR AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION BY BFI. Cal. 5.56mm. S# ABN0032. Bbl. 18". Manufactured 1989-1990. One of an American Historical Foundation limited run of 950 Airborne commemorative rifles. These were built on early BFI receivers and finished in a deep, dark polished black w/ gold plated accents on several parts including the takedown pins, selector, bolt & mag release, forward assist, trigger, dust cover & flash hider. Right side of receivers engraved & gold marked as follows; "World War II, Korea, Vietnam" on upper receiver, "United States Airborne Forces" w/ US flag & leaf & "Airborne All The Way" w/ Airborne crest surrounded w/ gold leaf on lower receiver. Right side of pistol grip has medallion w/ Airborne crest & circled w/ "In Honor Of U.S. Airborne Forces". Protected post front sight. Dual aperture rear sight in carry handle. 7" round carbine handguards retained w/ strait delta ring. Teardrop forward assist. 2 position aluminum collapsible stock. Left side of mag well marked; "BFI / WINDHAM ME / USA/ CAL .223 / 5,56MM / MOD EA-15 / ABN 0032". MAGS: 1 matching dark black 20 rd Colt. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Hardwood presentation case w/ glass lid measuring 44"x12.5"x3.5" when closed, lined w/ burgundy velvet material & plaque marked "United States Airborne Commemorative M16 / Limited Edition / American Historical Foundation / Richmond Virginia". CONDITION: As typical w/ special edition firearms of this nature it appears unfired & in as issued condition. The only sign of age is some finish thinning on magazine, inside of mag well where it's not visible, from mechanical intervention between it, and the interior surface of the mag well. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (23-2559/JZ). MODERN. $1,750-2,500.
