GUN BY W & C SCOTT WITH BRILEY CHOKE TUBES. Cal. 410 2 1/2". S# 98002. The 28" dovetailed barrels with narrow matted swamped rib are engraved with maker's name and 55 Victoria Street London address on tops. Barrels have been fitted with Briley interchangeable chokes. Barrel flats are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 7/16 oz. shot and "LC". Case hardened small size boxlock action features automatic safety, screw grip pivoting third fastener which engages square rib extension and double triggers. Action is engraved with scroll and line borders along with some sprays of scroll around pins and pivots, maker's name is on each side. Matching top lever, trigger plate and trigger guard are blued. S# and castle logo are on trigger guard tang. Dark marbled European walnut half pistol grip buttstock measures 14 1/8" over ribbed plastic buttplate. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant silver oval is on toeline. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Restriction: screw chokes. Wall thickness: L .033. R .038. STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 1/2"+. CAST: neutral. LOP: 14 1/8". WEIGHT: 5 lb. 0 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 3 Briley choke tubes (2 in gun for total of 5) and installation tool in black plastic container. CONDITION: very good to fine as mostly refinished. Barrels retaining nearly all of fine reblack with a few minor marks. Action retains approx. 30% of case hardening color, strong were protected but is mostly a somewhat frosted silver gray. Top lever and floorplate retain most of their original blue, trigger guard reblued, engraving softened. Stocks show nearly all hand rubbed oil refinish. Buttplate a recent replacement. Checkering nicely cleaned. Bores are shiny, the only noted problem is evidence of dent removal in right barrel 15" from muzzle. Action is tight, ejectors strong and in time.
