Lot of 12 assorted Civil War era artillery fuses, including: 1) x2 5-count packs of Frankford Arsenal 4 second artillery fuses dated 1863. 2) x2 5-count packs of Frankford Arsenal 8 second artillery fuses (x1 dated 1863, x1 dated 1864). 3) x1 5-count pack of Frankford Arsenal 20 second artillery fuses dated 1864. 4) x3 5-count packs of unknown (presumably Frankford Arsenal, as all timed fuse production was shifted to Frankford Arsenal in 1862) artillery fuses. x1 box retains faint markings indicating 1864 production and a 5 second fuse, with x2 packs exhibiting no identifying markings other than "8", "10", "10", "15", and "15" (presumably fuse times) along the upper edge. 4) x1 5-count pack of 5 second artillery fuses. Fuses are in their original brown paper and twine packaging, with packaging marked "5.S" on front face. 5) x2 5-count packs of 8 second artillery fuses. Fuses are housed within their original yellow paper packaging, simply marked "8 Second Fuze" in different fonts on their front faces. 6) x1 5-count pack of 8 second artillery fuses. Fuses are housed within their original brown paper and twine packaging marked "8.S" on the front face. CONDITION: packs show varying degrees of wear and age related discoloration, with paper packaged packs exhibiting some tears. PROVENANCE: Norman Olliff Estate. (02-25677/MLW). NON-GUN. $100-150.
