This lot consists of the following German bayonets: 1) Weimar Rework 98/05 Bayonet. 1917 dated FW Holler "Butcher blade" 98/05 bayonet. Blued blade & grooved hardwood handles. Scabbard & "RLM" (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) marked leather frog present. CONDITION: handles show scattered dings, light chipping & handling wear. Crossguard & pommel show notable finish wear with light pitting & oxidation. Blade shows scattered edge wear & oxidation. Frog shows scattered flaking & crazing. Scabbard is fading to gray with scattered oxidation. 2) S84/98 Bayonet. 43asw coded S84/98 bayonet with matching scabbard & unmarked leather frog. Hardwood handles. CONDITION: grips show a few dings & handling marks. Metal parts of bayonet show scattered light oxidation & some fading. Frog shows overall crazing & some flaking. Scabbard shows edge wear, fading to gray & oxidation. 3) S84/98 Bayonet. 1939 dated EUF Horster 84/98 bayonet with mismatched scabbard & D. Reighel leather frog. Grooved bakelite grip panels. CONDITION: grip panels show some chipping around rivet holes & scattered handling marks. Metal parts of bayonet show scattered edge wear & oxidation. Frog shows scattered flaking & crazing. Scabbard shows scattered fading to gray & oxidation. 4) German 1898 N/A Bayonet. CG Haenel made second pattern 1898 bayonet dated 1907. Crossguard has 175 Infantry regiment unit marking that appears partly ground off. Grooved hardwood handles. Black enamel finish scabbard. CONDITION: grip handles show a few chips, scattered dings & handling marks. Blade appears partially bright with scattered oxidation & scratches Pommel & crossguard are a dull gray patina with oxidation & pitting. Scabbard shows scattered flaking black paint. 5) WW1 Ersatz Bayonet. All steel ersatz bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: blade remains partially bright with scattered oxidation. Handles & scabbard show overall flaking & oxidation. 6) S84/98 Bayonet. 1939 dated E. Pack & Sohnes with 1937 dated leather frog & matching scabbard. Grooved bakelite grip panels. CONDITION: scabbard has lightly carved "A" some scratches & handling wear. Metal parts of bayonet show scattered edge wear & oxidation. Frog shows scattered flaking & crazing. 7) Unmarked 1930 Dress Bayonet. Chrome finish 7 3/4" blade. Checkered blade handles with two rivets. Black enamel finished scabbard. CONDITION: grip panels show some dings & handling marks. Metal parts of bayonet show some light flaking chrome & oxidation. Scabbard appears repainted with some light oxidation & flaking. 8) Horster 1930 Dress Bayonet. Chrome finish with Horster marking on blade. 8 3/4" blade. Button is missing. Checkered black handles with two rivets. Black enamel finished scabbard. CONDITION: handles show some residue & handling marks. Metal parts of bayonet some light oxidation, residue & edge wear. Scabbard shows some scattered flaking & scratches. 9) WKC 1930 Dress Bayonet. Chrome finish with checkered black handles. 9" blade has WKC Knight logo. Black enamel scabbard with leather frog & Portapee. CONDITION: grips show some dirt staining & handling marks. Metal parts of bayonet show scattered oxidation & areas dulling to gray. Portapee shows a few tears & some staining. Frog shows scattered crazing & flaking. Scabbard shows scattered flaking. 10) German 1898 N/A Bayonet. Appears to be an Erfurt made German 1898 second model bayonet with faint indiscernible unit markings on crossguard. Reapplied chrome finish. Grooved hardwood handles. Leather scabbard. CONDITION: handles show a couple cracks, heavy handling wear, chips & dings. Metal parts of bayonet show scattered oxidation, flaking & pitting. Leather scabbard is broken with some missing chunks of leather & the spine is separating. 12) German Dress Bayonet. German dress bayonet that appears to have been reworked from an earlier 1916 dated Imperial blade. Blade measures 16" in length & has Richard Herder maker's marking. Chrome finish. Bone grip panels with two rivets. Leather frog. Black enamel finished scabbard that is numbered to a different bayonet. CONDITION: grips display a loose fit & some handling wear. metal parts of bayonet show scattered oxidation 7 flaking. Frog shows overall crazing & flaking. Scabbard shows overall flaking paint with some oxidation. 13) Four unmarked leather frogs are present in varying degrees of condition. (02-23073-3/MJC). $500-800 for lot.
