1) WEST GERMAN RECK WELLS FARGO LEVER ACTION CARBINE. Cal. 22 S. S# WF19021. Bbl. 24 7/16". Wells Fargo lever action carbine mfg. in West Germany by Reck and imported by Century Arms in 1987. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the cal. designation, with "Made in West-Germany 19021" marked on the right, and the importer model and information marked on the underside. Left side of the receiver is marked "RECK/ Lever-Action" above the S#, with a triad of West German proofs consisting of an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof, Cologne proof house insignia, and "IH" (87) date code marked across the top at the chamber. Alloy frame, lever, and bolt exhibit a black anodized finish, with steel parts exhibiting a blue finish. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock with 2 black synthetic bbl. bands. Integral black synthetic blade front sight (on forward bbl. band) and 2-screw fastened V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: alloy parts retain the majority of their original factory anodized finish, with the receiver exhibiting apparent patches of aluminum oxide. Bbl. exhibits scattered marks and some superficial scratches. Mirror smooth bore. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (25-5826/MLW). 2) FRENCH GEVARM "CARBINE AUTOMATIQUE" OPEN-BOLT SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. 35297 (underside of receiver and bbl.). Bbl. 21 5/8". "Carbine Automatique" (appearing to be a Model A3) open-bolt semi-automatic rifle mfg. in France by Gevarm. Left side of the bbl. is marked "CARBINE AUTOMATIQUE", followed by the Gevarm logo, cal. designation, as well as French Crown/AR and "ST. ETIENNE" proofing (repeated on left side of the receiver), with "Made in France" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish, save for on the bolt assembly, which is polished in-the-white. Alloy trigger guard assembly exhibits a matte gray/green anodized finish on the exterior, with a blued anodized finish on the interior. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip stock features a schnabel tip forearm and and grooved black synthetic Gevarm logo buttplate. Globe post front sight, with tangent V-notch rear sight graduated 25-100. Top of the receiver is grooved for a scope mount attachment. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and bbl. Stock is stamped "13516", followed by a handwritten "35297" in pencil in the bbl. channel. MAGS: x1 unmarked blued steel 8-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory finishes, exhibiting some scattered superficial handling marks and spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with some finish flaking, as well as some sub-surface level cracking to the finish (primarily present on forward and bottom faces of pistol grip). Stock exhibits 2 cracks that stem from the left side of the rear trigger guard web area. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (25-5877/MLW). BOTH MODERN. $800-1,400.
