RIFLES. 1) GERMAN HAENEL KK SPORT SINGLE SHOT BREECHLOADING RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 6134. Bbl. 23 1/16". KK Sport single shot breechloading rifle mfg. in Germany by by C.G. Haenel in June of 1938. Left flat of the octagonal bbl. is stamped with a horizontal Star/H proof, followed by "BOHLERSTAHL", with "C.G.H. 6134", Crown/ B & Crown/U commercial proofs (repeated on right flat of receiver and breechblock), "Suhl", the cal. designation, and date code "638" marked on the bottom flat towards the breech. The faceted breech of the receiver is marked "HAENEL - K.K. SPORT/ Cal. .22 long rifle" on the top flat, with the Haenel arrow logo marked on the left quarter flat, and the S# marked on the left flat. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the trigger, which exhibits a straw finish. Checkered wood schnabel tip forend and pistol grip buttstock. Underside of forend exhibits 2 filled holes towards the rear. Buttstock exhibits a small added hole on either side towards the comb, has been shortened, and then lengthened via 3 wood spacers and Pachmayr red rubber recoil pad. Toeline of buttstock and underside of forearm feature added sling swivels. Original front sight ramp base is fitted with a contemporary dovetailed Marbles white synthetic beaded blade front sight. Top flat of the bbl. features matte grooving and is mounted with 2 scope bases (and x1 scope ring). Rear of receiver features an integral slot for a removable disc aperture rear sight. Adj. trigger features checkering along the right edge of the front face. Lever features an elongated tang as well as a checkered panel. All visible serialized parts are matching and include the frame (left side of breech & underside of tang), bbl. (underside), lever (interior), and trigger base / lower tang (interior). UNATTACHED ACCESSSORIES: unmarked rear sight adj. key. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some patches / areas of light to mild edge wear, as well as scattered spots and patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Trigger has faded to gray at contact points. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, with a repair present on the left side of the forearm at the lower rear edge of the receiver. (25-5855/MLW). CURIO. 2) ITALIAN I.A.R. ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 11381. Bbl. 22". Rolling Block pattern rifle mfg. in Italy and imported by IAR in 1997. Top of the bbl. is marked with IAR's importer information, with a pair of Italian proofs marked on the left. Left side of the receiver is marked with the catalog # "CAT. 1555" above 2 Italian proofs, a boxed "BI" (97) date code and a "GVT" logo (possibly indicating mfg. in Gardone Val Trompia), with the s# marked on the right. Bbl., breechblock, button, screws, and trigger exhibit a blue finish, with the receiver and hammer exhibiting a case colored finish. Brass trigger guard and buttplate. Plain wood forearm and straight grip buttstock. Toeline of buttstock and underside of forearm feature added sling studs. Front sight dovetail is empty, with a slot blank present in the rear sight dovetail. Bbl. has been drilled and tapped, featuring a vintage Weaver K1 scope. Bbl. matches the receiver via "381". CONDITION: receiver and breechblock retain the majority of their original factory case colored finish, exhibiting some areas of wear fading to gray patina, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation present overall. Blued parts are excellent. Bbl. exhibits several dings along the left edge of the muzzle. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection.
