Lot of 2 German World War II flare pistols, including: 1) Model 1934 26.6mm flare pistol mfg. by Erma-Werke in 1942. Left side of the frame is marked with Erma's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "ayf/ 42" above the military pattern S# "9989J". Right side of the frame and bbl. are marked with 2 Erma Eagle/280 proofs and an eagle firing proof. Aluminum construction with steel small parts. Aluminum parts exhibit a black anodized finish, with steel parts exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece crude laminated wood grips, and features a cylindrical lanyard stud and ring. Visible numbers "998" are present on the left side of the bbl., with the rest obscured by the frame. CONDITION: aluminum parts/components retain the majority of their original factory black anodized finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning showing through to bare aluminum, as well as scattered superficial marks from handling and storage. Bbl. lever and trigger exhibit areas of mild surface oxidation. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some small chips and losses to the outer laminated layer, but otherwise remain sound. 2) LP42 26.6mm flare pistol mfg. by Meinel-Scholer. Left side of the frame is marked with the S#, followed by Meinel-Scholer's mfg. code "euh". Stamped steel construction with 2-piece grooved brown pressed resin grips. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a gray/brown appearance, exhibiting areas of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Bore exhibits consistent moderate oxidation. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. (02-25737/MLW). NON-GUN. $200-300.
