SUBMACHINE GUN 100-ROUND "C" DRUMS. Lot of 2 Thompson submachine gun 100-rd. "C" drums, including: 1) x1 West Hurley 100-rd. "C" drum. Front drum cover's riveted plate is marked "MAGAZINE TYPE "C"/ THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/ 100 CARTRIDGES CAL. 45/ WIND TO 15 CLICKS/ NO. 0285", with the Thompson trademark logo and "WIND TO 15 CLICKS" marked on the cover plate, and with "AUTO ORDNANCE CORP./ NEW YORK, USA/ PATENTED/ JULY 27, 1920 DEC. 7, 1920/ NO. 0285" marked on the rear riveted plate. Drum exhibits a blue finish overall. CONDITION: drum retains the majority of its original blue finish, exhibiting scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall, with scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate oxidation and pitting present on the front of the drum cover, as well as on the underside of the drum cover and body. Drum exhibits some superficial handling marks overall, but otherwise appears sound and serviceable. 2) x1 West Hurley 100-rd. "C" drum. Front drum cover's riveted plate is marked "MAGAZINE TYPE "C"/ THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/ 100 CARTRIDGES CAL. 45/ WIND TO 15 CLICKS/ NO. 1529", with the Thompson trademark logo and "WIND TO 15 CLICKS" marked on the cover plate, and with "AUTO ORDNANCE CORP./ NEW YORK, USA/ PATENTED/ JULY 27, 1920 DEC. 7, 1920/ NO. 1529" marked on the rear riveted plate. Drum exhibits a blue finish overall. CONDITION: drum retains the majority of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting some small scattered spots and patches of light surface oxidation, with a patch of mild to moderate pitting present on the drum cover.
