SHOTGUNS. 1) Cal. 12 GA. S# E510042. Bbl. 26". Model 1897 pump action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1912. Top of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by "12 GA.", with a "CYL." choke markings stamped on the left towards the breech. Left side of action slide is marked "MODEL 1897/ -WINCHESTER-". Grooved wood pump with sanded and refinished plain wood pistol grip buttstock and checkered black hard rubber buttplate. Brass bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance having faded to a mottled brown patina, exhibiting scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting, as well as spots of age related discoloration. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a large crack on the right side of the wrist, and a small crack on the left. (25-5887/MLW). 2) Cal. 12 GA. S# E837844. Bbl. 28". Model 97 pump action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1936. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, followed by a "MOD." choke marking, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Action slide bar is unmarked. Left side of the receiver is engraved "CLEVELAND, O., MAY 29 - 1933 - 12 GAUGE", featuring light wavy line foliate scroll style motifs on either side of the forward edges, which extend to the trigger guard bow. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Grooved wood pump and checkered wood pistol grip stock with plain steel buttplate. Underside of buttstock is stamped "B", with a concentric circle inlay present on the bottom of the pistol grip, and an unengraved circular German silver escutcheon inlaid on the toeline. Buttstock appears to have bee lightly sanded and refinished, being shy at the toe of the buttplate. Aluminum bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components retain the large amounts to the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to brown patina, with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Very bright bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of light pitting. Proper manual mechanics.
