SHOTGUNS. 1) Cal. 12 GA. S#, C60187. Bbl. 30". Second year of production Model 1897 pump action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1899. Top of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by "12" and "FULL" towards the breech. Left side of action slide is marked "WINCHESTER/ MODEL 1897". 3-screw grooved wood pump, with sanded and refinished plain wood rnd. knob buttstock with flat steel buttplate. Solid frame action. Brass bead front sight. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, with the balance having faded to a gray patina, exhibiting scattered scratches, as well as scattered spots/patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Fair bore, exhibiting scattered patches of moderate pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Pump exhibits several cracks stemming from the forward and rear edges. Buttstock exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a crack on either side and the underside of the wrist, as well as some marring at the rear of the comb. (25-5891/MLW). 2) Cal. 12 GA. S# D293423. Bbl. 30". Model 1897 slide action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1906. Left side of the bbl. is marked "MODEL 97 - (WINCHESTER TRADEMARK LOGO) - 12 GA.", followed by a "FULL" choke marking, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Action slide is marked "MODEL 1897/ -WINCHESTER-". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Grooved wood pump with sanded and refinished plain wood rnd. knob buttstock and checkered brown hard rubber buttplate. Bbl. features a grooved matte strap along the top, with an aluminum bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, scattered handling marks, as well as scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered patches of light to mild pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Hammer spur is chipped at the left rear corner. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a large crack on the left side of the wrist, 2 cracks on the right side of the wrist, and 2 cracks on the underside of the wrist.
