SHOTGUNS. 1) FIRST YEAR OF PRODUCTION WINCHESTER MODEL 1912 PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 GA. S# 2344. Bbl. 25". Model 1912 pump action shotgun mfg. during the first year of production (1912). Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, followed by a "FULL" choke marking, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Grooved wood pump and plain wood pistol grip buttstock with checkered brown hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Brass bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a dark mottled gray patina, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting overall. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, predominately on the left side. Proper manual mechanics, although the firing pin appears to drop slightly before the bolt has locked into place. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting 1 crack on the left side of the wrist and 2 on the right, all stemming from the receiver. (25-5475/MLW). 2) WINCHESTER MODEL 1912 PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 GA. S# 95875. Bbl. 26". Model 1912 pump action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1915. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, followed by a "MOD." choke marking, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is in-the-white. Sanded and refinished grooved wood pump and plain wood pistol grip buttstock with checkered brown hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Brass bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots/areas of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Bore exhibits consistent light to mild pitting, with scattered patches of moderate pitting. Action is worn, with the firing pin tripping before the bolt is closed, rendering the gun unsafe to fire. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with 2 cracks present on the right side of the pump, and 1 crack present on the underside of the wrist. Buttplate exhibits a large chip at the toe area. (25-5483/MLW). BOTH CURIO. $500-700.
