SHOTGUNS. 1) WINCHESTER MODEL 97 SLIDE ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. S# E826045. Bbl. 32". Model 97 slide action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1931. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, followed by a "FULL" choke marking, with Winchester's mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish. Sanded and refinished grooved wood pump and pistol grip buttstock with checkered brown hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Aluminum bead front sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and receiver extension. CONDITION: metal components retain traces of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered handling marks and spots of light pitting. Underside of bbl. exhibits areas of varnish / lacquer. Mirror bore, exhibiting some scratches throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a crack present on either side of the wrist on the buttstock. (25-5908/MLW). 2) WINCHESTER MODEL 1897 SOLID FRAME PUMP ACTION RIOT SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. S# E650305. Bbl. 20". Model 1897 solid frame pump action riot shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1919. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, followed by the cal. designation and "CYL." choke marking. Action slide is marked with the model designation above the Winchester trademark logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Sanded and refinished grooved wood pump and plain pistol grip buttstock with later production checkered brown synthetic Winchester buttplate. Brass bead front sight. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that is fading to gray and brown patinas, scattered superficial handling marks and scratches, as well as light surface oxidation and pitting overall. Sides of bbl. and mag. tube, as well as the rear of the receiver exhibit areas of varnish / lacquer from wood refinishing. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a crack on the left side of the wrist stemming from the receiver, and with the pump exhibiting a repaired full length crack on either side.
