1) WINCHESTER MODEL 1906 SLIDE ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 S, L, LR. S# 571126. Bbl. 20". Model 1906 slide action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1919. Left side of bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, followed by "-MOD. 1906-", with the cal. designation marked at the breech. Original factory blue finish has been removed, with metal components being polished in-the-white. Plain wood straight grip buttstock and grooved wood pump have been sanded and revarnished at one time. Blade front sight with modified "U" rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and lower assembly. CONDITION: metal components retain much of their polished finish, exhibiting scattered spots of light surface oxidation, with spots of age related discoloration present overall. Bore exhibits moderate pitting and retains fair rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows a few scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a crack on the top and bottom of the wrist, both stemming from the receiver tang. (24-1915/MLW). 2) SAVAGE MODEL 1903 SLIDE ACTION RIFLE. Cal 22 S, L, LR. S# 71002. Bbl. 24". Model 1903 slide action rifle mfg. by Savage Arms Co. Top flat of the octagonal bb. is marked with Savage's mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked at the breech. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Round knob perch belly wood buttstock with grooved wood pump. Blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. Tang mounted safety. MAGS: 1 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to brown patina, as well as mild to moderate surface oxidation overall. Dark pitted bore, retaining trace amounts of rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
