Top of bbl. is marked with Springfield's mfg. information, as well as with the cal. and model designations. Blued finish with a plain wood buttstock. Half-moon front sight with square notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and some oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (23-5542/MLW) 2) MERIDAN MODEL 15 SLIDE ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 S, L, LR. S# 1044. Bbl. 24". Model 15 slide action rifle mfg. by Meridan Fire Arms Co. The top of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Meridan's mfg. information, with the cal. designation on the left at the breech. Blued finish with a plain wood straight grip buttstock and grooved wood forend. Rudimentary handmade brass blade front sight with notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting thinning and wear that show through to gray and brown patinas, with mild to moderate surface oxidation overall. Bright bore, exhibiting light pitting and good rifling throughout. Buttstock shows numerous dings, marks, and gouges, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Brass beaded blade front sight with square notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning, with light surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks from handling and storage, with losses to the varnish, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
