Lot of 4 primarily German WWII dress pattern bayonets, including: 1) German Model 1938 dress bayonet. Blade measures 9 3/4" with an overall length of 14 9/16". Left side of the ricasso is marked with a Carl Eickhorn mfg. marking. Metal components exhibit a plated finish overall. Downward quillon with "eagle head" pommel. 2-piece checkered black synthetic grip panels. Grip is wrapped in an original green and silver colored portepee. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black enamel finished steel scabbard with forward section of black leather frog. CONDITION: blade retains the majority of its bright plated finish, showing scattered scratches, with some flaking and wear present at the tip of either side. Quillon and pommel exhibit scattered spots of bubbling and flaking. Grip panels are very good overall. Portepee shows fraying and losses. Scabbard shows scattered spots of flaking. 2) German Model 1940 dress carbine bayonet. Blade measures 7 3/4" with an overall length of 12 3/4". No mfg. markings are present. Metal components exhibit a plated finish. Downward hooked quillon with "eagle head" pommel. 2-piece checkered wood grip scales. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black enamel finished steel scabbard with blackened leather frog. CONDITION: blade retains a mostly bright appearance, showing scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Quillon and pommel show scattered spots of flaking, bubbling, and oxidation. Wood grip panels show some smoothing, but otherwise remain sound. Scabbard shows some minor flaking and scattered scratches. Frog remains malleable, showing some general overall wear and age related wear. 3) German Fireman's dress dagger. Blade measures 7 5/8" with an overall length of 12 1/2". Right side of ricasso is marked with a F.W. Holler mfg. marking. Metal components exhibit a plated finish. "S" shaped guard with "eagle head" pommel. 1-piece checkered black synthetic grip panels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black enamel finished steel scabbard with brown leather frog. Rear of frog is stamped "1/N.A.36 I" below a mostly illegible mfg. marking and "1937" date. CONDITION: blade retains the majority of its bright plated finish, showing some spots of flaking as well as some scattered scratches overall. Guard and pommel show consistent light bubbling, with some small spots of flaking. Grip panels are very good. Scabbard is very good, with some light wear and scattered small scratches. Frog shows crazing overall. 4) German WWII K98 bayonet. Blade measures 9 3/4" with an overall length of 15". Left side of the ricasso is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg. and the mfg. code "42 fnj" (Alexander Coppel), with the S# "4226/ R" marked on the right. 2-piece plain wood grip panels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching steel scabbard with brown leather frog. Mfg. marking on rear of frog is illegible. CONDITION: metal components have been cleaned, with traces of bluing remaining. Blade shows some light to mild pitting, with heavy sharpening marks. Guard and pommel exhibit light surface oxidation. Grips show scattered marks and minor impressions, but otherwise remain sound. Scabbard has been cleaned, exhibiting a mottled gray patina, with some cleaning striations. Frog shows varying degrees of age related crazing. (02-25301/MLW). NON-GUN. $200-400.
